Hi! I'm Stephanie Holmes, Esther, Ethan, and Evan's (favorite) aunt. As you might have already gathered, I'm a photographer, and thought it would be fun to get some pictures of my niece and nephews playing basketball... Needless to say, these games were super entertaining! lol!
So, I also captured some of your kiddos too... I'm so sorry if I somehow didn't get your cutie, but I was trying to follow the person with the ball for the most part...

Anyways, full disclosure, I'm not a sports photographer so these probably aren't the best ever... lol! You might remember that I was searching for a "model family" a few weeks back to help me get some pictures specifically at the location where I am hosting Fall Mini Sessions...
(BTW if you missed that email.. WHY aren't you on my email list? You could've received a waived session fee and a few dollars to pick out something pretty)
Well, I hit the jackpot when I found the Groves family! Once you start scrolling you'll see what I mean...
Someone wasn't happy at first about family portraits, but he came around pretty quick..
I have a feeling this won't be the last time I get to hang out with Ms. Chloe, only a couple more years until Senior Portrait time!(Don't cry momma)
I cannot say enough nice things about this family and how sweet their kiddos were!
I mean, check this one, just hamming it up for the camera after he didn't even want to look at me before...
This family was sure blessed with some beautiful and polite kiddos!
I seriously love the silly faces just as much as the sweet smiles! Give me personality any day of the week! I'm pretty sure mom and dad are going to have their hands full with this one...

2018 Senior Elites!
What in the world are Senior Elites you ask? Good Question!
They are a group of high school students who are in their senior year that have decided to be part of a fun year-long experience. We set up monthly photoshoots for the Elites and their friends, we plan destination shoots - we are going to Colorado in January with two of the Senior Elites - believe me you'll want to keep an eye for that post... They also get perks like CASH, professional hair and makeup for their senior portraits, a free family portrait session - admittedly that is more for the parents than the seniors :) along with a few other perks - all only available to my Senior Elites.

For our first shoot this year, we went down to the Atlanta Beltline and Historic Fourth Ward Park.

I have had the pleasure of getting to know Kelsey for the past couple years while taking her family's portrait.
Needless to say, I was thrilled to have her join the team!
I actually connected with Sese through Instagram; and so glad that I did. This young lady is one of the sweetest girls you will ever meet!
Maddie, one of Sese's best friends, decided to come to the first Elite shoot with Sese to see if she would want to join the team, and she did shortly after!
She is also one of the Elites that is going to Colorado with us in January! Since she is originally from Minnesota, I'm sure she'll be laughing at the Georgians with her, who will be freeeeezing!
Hannah is another one of Sese's best friends who came to the first shoot to check us out; and she just recently joined the team! So happy to have her! She was so incredibly helpful on this shoot, I wish I could bring her to every shoot!

This tugged on my heartstrings because my mom passed when I was young from an incurable "virus," that thankfully, now has a cure!! So, while I have a few pictures of my mom, I don't have nearly as many as I wish I did. So, you can see why I LOVE this idea!
BTW check out how beautiful my mom was and how handsome my dad is! :)
Trust me, I realize that having your pictures done professionally is a luxury expense and not something that everyone can afford to do on a regular basis, especially if you are dealing with extra medical expenses. That is why I will be starting my own version of this project - The Making Memories Project.
I will be committing to photograph one person/family a month who has an immediate family member with a terminal illness. I am asking that you nominate a person/family you know who would appreciate this gift. The person/family chosen will receive the same full-service my regular clients do! We will meet for a consultation to talk about what they have envisioned, answer any questions they may have, show them some of the beautiful products they will be able to choose from, a one-hour on-location photo shoot, all watermarked social media images from their session, an in-person viewing session of all of their photos, and a special gift from me.
While I would love to be able to extend this offer to everyone, the nominee must be able to meet within 90 minutes of Atlanta for their photo shoot.
Since I love for people to have physical items to hold onto and pass down - not just a file on a hard drive, that might disappear with a computer crash - I will be asking the person(s) who nominated them to make a small donation(as little as $5!) to go towards heirloom quality products the nominee may want to purchase at a highly discounted price; I will not be taking a profit, I truly just want them to have something nice. I will be setting up a monthly GoFundMe for the nominee chosen, for donations to be made through, and to be able to share with my followers/friends as wells as yours. Any monies that are left over after their order will be donated in their name to the charity of their choosing. To be clear, nominees will NOT be chosen dependent on how much you plan to donate to their fund, as I will not even begin to ask for donations until after they have been chosen.
At the end of the month I will go through nominees for the next month, and notify the person/family that has been chosen by the first of the month. Being we are only a little more than a week out from the first of January, I would love to be able to notify someone on 1/1/17 and start their year off on a high note. Edit: Alright, we are now in January and we are still searching for someone. Please nominate/share.
Also, if the person/family you nominate does not get chosen in the month you nominated them, they will continue to be put back into the list of nominees for future months!

Lastly, people who you might be considering nominating may think of this as "charity" and not want to participate if you talk to them about it before you nominate them. However, I think it might come across better if I contact them if they are chosen for the month after they are nominated. They can of course tell me they do not want to do it, but I have a feeling that once they know what they will be getting for free, and the memories they will be making with their friends/family they won't want to say no. If you want to chat with them before-hand, by all means, do so.

While I had planned to, and shot, the ladies in two separate fun outfits, only the one really "worked" once I started going through all of our photos from the day. That's just kind of how it goes sometimes though when you try something new.
That being said, I am thrilled with how these turned out! And I will be trying the other idea again in the hopefully near future with a better idea of how to "make it work" as Tim Gunn would say!
So we set up shop right in the middle of the trail close to the parking lot, which meant lots of eyes on the girls... They were troopers! Between people staring and telling them "congratulations" thinking this was some sort of wedding shoot...(admittedly, I may have gone a little overboard with the tulle while making the skirt...) They smiled and laughed through it all.
